Borrower of the Month July 2019 is cellist
🌟James Conway🌟
Benslow MILS was delighted to receive this lovely email from James earlier this month:
"I wanted to write to you, as a very proud user and recipient of a Benslow instrument, to share some exciting news!
You may remember for the past two years I have been a member of the Royal College of Music Junior Department (for students up to the age of 18/19) which takes place every Saturday.
Recently, we finished our year, and thus also my time with them has come to an end, concluding with a "leavers' and prize winners' ceremony" and concert at Cadogan Hall.
I am writing to tell you that I was awarded the Esther Coleman Award For Outstanding Contribution And Achievement, which is a huge honour and privilege. Other previous winners of the award include Martin James Bartlett (Winner of BBC Young Musician 2014), Laura Van Der Heijden (Winner of BBC Young Musician 2012), Ben Goldscheider (Finalist, BBC Young Musician 2016) and many other globally celebrated soloists, chamber and orchestral musicians whom attended RCMJD.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the Benslow scheme, which continues to afford me the opportunity to be able to use an amazing cello and make the most of all the teaching and performing both at the Royal College and also whilst on residency and tour as a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and also looking ahead as I begin Undergraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Thank you again,
James Conway "
Thank YOU James for your lovely update and many congratulations. You must have worked so hard to achieve this success. Everyone at BMILS wishes you the very best for the exciting future ahead and we are delighted that the Benslow cello will accompanying you on this exciting new venture. Keep us posted - we are immensely proud of you.
