Safety and Security
Benslow Music Instrument Loan Scheme understands that you will need to be entirely happy about the safety and security of your instrument or bow.
Each item is given an unique reference number; please quote this on all correspondence.
All items are photographed on site for identification purposes.
Records of correspondence are kept on file.
Details and photographs of certificates, labels, makers marks and any identifying features are included in the file.
A condition report form and valuation is completed by our resident luthier on acceptance of your instrument.
Insurance
Your instrument is insured through our Specialist Musical Instrument policy at all times whilst on the premises.
When out on loan it is mandatory for the instrument to be insured by the Guarantor/Student under the same type of policy.
Benslow Music Instrument Loan Scheme will have details of the Insurance Company and Policy Number.
Servicing and Repair
Students are required to have their instrument/bow serviced annually, and a record of the service made in the Instrument Log Book that accompanies it.
An approved luthier is listed in the log book.
Any alteration in set-up, repair or restoration work of any kind has to be agreed with Benslow, in writing, in advance.
Should the condition of your instrument change, or in the case of loss or theft, you will be informed promptly and involved in any discussions and decisions.
