Having lent her beloved French violin to the Instrument Loan Scheme, long term supporter and Governor of the Loan Scheme Jean Harris was delighted to hear that it had been chosen. New borrower Sasha Scott, aged 15, who learns with Alda Dizdari at the Purcell School, applied for an instrument needing a bigger brighter sound than was possible on her current violin. After trying several instruments, she chose Jean's Guersan.

To thank Jean for her kindness and generosity a special performance and afternoon tea was arranged in February so that Sasha could play the violin for her. She performed Bruch and Mozart to the evident delight of all those listening.

Sasha has been learning since the age of 4, was a member of the National Children's Orchestra of GB from the ages of 7-12, and received a scholarship to attend the Purcell School from aged 9. She would like to pursue a career in music performance on the violin and combine it with composition.

Jean's generosity in lending her violin is a great stepping stone in Sasha's musical journey and we hope that it will inspire her and help her to achieve her goals.
